Privacy policy

Cambridge Allergy Ltd, trading as Camallergy, is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect and use personal information through the Camallergy website and services, including the OIT Diary. Cambridge Allergy Ltd is registered in England and Wales under company number 09905065.

  1. We process personal information in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. We only collect and use personal information where we have a lawful basis for doing so and only for the purposes for which it was collected.

  2. When you contact us, register your interest, subscribe to updates or submit information through our website, we may collect information such as your name, email address and the contents of your message. We use this information to respond to you, provide information you have requested and manage our relationship with you. Where you have subscribed to marketing communications, you can unsubscribe at any time.

  3. If you provide information about your health or allergies, this is treated as special-category personal data and receives additional protection under data protection law. We only process health information where there is an appropriate lawful basis and condition for doing so.

  4. If you use our OIT Diary, we collect your sign-in details and information entered into the diary about treatment, including doses taken and any symptoms. The app also records technical information needed to run and support it, such as the device platform, app version and, where reminders are on, a notification token. It does not collect location, contacts or advertising identifiers. We use this information to provide the diary service and to make relevant treatment information available to Camallergy and the clinician or clinic supervising the patient's treatment. We use third-party service providers to host the service and, where enabled, deliver notifications. We do not use OIT Diary information for advertising or sell it. Information that forms part of a patient's clinical record will be retained in accordance with applicable clinical record retention requirements.

  5. Cambridge Allergy Partners is a trading name of Cambridge Allergy Ltd providing clinical allergy services. If you are a Cambridge Allergy Partners patient or contact Cambridge Allergy Partners about clinical care, further information about how your information is used in connection with those services is set out in the Cambridge Allergy Partners privacy policy.

  6. We use service providers where necessary to operate our websites, communications and other services. These providers may process personal information on our behalf and are required to protect it appropriately. We may also share relevant information with healthcare professionals, clinics, regulatory authorities or other organisations where this is necessary for the purpose for which the information was collected, to provide healthcare or treatment, to comply with our legal or regulatory obligations, or where otherwise permitted by law.

  7. Some of the organisations that provide services to us may process personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where this involves a restricted international transfer, we use an appropriate safeguard recognised under UK data protection law, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards.

  8. We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet any legal, regulatory, clinical or record-keeping requirements that apply to us. Different retention periods therefore apply to different types of information.

  9. We may use cookies and similar technologies to operate our website and understand how it is used. Where required, non-essential cookies will only be used with your consent. You can change your cookie preferences through the website.

  10. Our website may contain links to other websites. Their privacy practices are outside our control and you should refer to their own privacy policies.

  11. Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights over your personal information, including rights to request access to it, have inaccurate information corrected, request deletion or restriction of processing, object to certain processing, and receive certain information in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time. These rights are subject to exceptions under data protection law; for example, we may be required to retain information that forms part of a clinical record.

  12. If you would like to exercise any of your rights or have a question about how we use your information, please contact us at support@camallergy.com.

  13. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.

  14. We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, our use of personal information or applicable law.
