Camallergy wins £2m additional funding through second Innovate UK Biomedical Catalyst award

- Part-funding for the first multi-centered, placebo-controlled clinical trial of our novel treatment for peanut allergy

LONDON, UK – 30 January 2023 – Camallergy today announced it has been awarded a further £2m funding under the Innovate UK Biomedical Catalyst Award program administered by Innovate UK, the United Kingdom’s research and innovation agency.

This funding will support our first placebo-controlled clinical trial to demonstrate the safety and class-leading convenience of our novel treatment approach.

The £2m non-dilutive funding is additional to the £1.1m announced in March 2021 which enabled the completion of a licensed medicinal product manufacturing facility and the filing of our first investigational new drug (IND) with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Camallergy’s pioneering treatment for peanut allergy.

Our strategy is to deliver safe, effective, and convenient treatments for food allergies. Patients and physicians continue to express an unmet need for effective, low-burden, and accessible treatments.

"This additional £2 million funding from Innovate UK is a strong endorsement of our scientific rigour and our vision to revolutionise the treatment of food allergy” said Dr Andrew Clark, Chief Medical Officer. “It enables us to introduce new, cutting-edge technology into our pioneering treatment and will support the first clinical trial of our exciting new approach that will improve accessibility, bringing hope and reassurance to patients and families affected by this condition.”
